DGP SHRI BASSI REVIEWS HOME GUARD PASSING OUT PARADE

The third batch of Goa Home Guards volunteers passed out from the Police Training School, Valpoi at an impressive passing out parade after 45 days of rigorous training, including weapon training, drill with and without arms, traffic control, bandobast duties outdoor training and lectures on different subjects.
Director General of Police who is also ex-Officio Commandant General of Home Guards Shri Bhim Sain Bassi, IPS, was the Chief Guest and reviewed the impressive parade of the Home Guard volunteers.


Shri Bassi in his speech lauded the volunteers for their impressive drill and said that the Home Guard volunteers are second to non. He said they work with the police shoulder to shoulder and discharge the duties of policing. Home Gourd or a police he said has to work beyond their normal timings so that the civilian polulation is comfortable. He wished them all the success in their future journey of life.
On arrival at the saluting dais, the DGP was presented a General salute following with he reviewed the parade and finally the parade marched in review order. The parade was commanded by Miss reshma Subhash Kandolkar while Shri swapnesh Kushali Gaonkar was second in command.
DGP Shri Bassi also presented trophies to Shri Shri Swanesh Kushali Gaonkar (Best in Outdoor(Male), Miss Sushma Minidas Naik (Best in Outdoor (Female, Mis Reshma Subhash Kandlkar (Best in Command), Shri Vijay Ganpat Thakur (Best Discipline(Male) and Smt. manda Tulshidas Naik (Best Discipline(Female).
The Principal of Police Training School, Superintendent of Police, Shri Shekar Prabhudessai welcomed while Police Sub Inspector Miss. Devyai Ambekar proposed a vote of thanks.


Superintendent of Police and Deputy Commandant general fo Home Guards Shri D. K. sawant, Superintendent of Police Shri Arvind Gawas, Superintendent of Police Shri Om Prakash Kudtarkar, District Commandant Home Guards Shri Nandkishore Raikar, DY. S. P. Shri Lawrence D’Souza, Dy. S.P. Shri Shamba sawant, CDI Shri C. K. Rane, Honorary Company Home Guards, Panaji Division Shri John Aguiar and others were present on the occasion.

In all 248 newly recruited home guards were under training at the Police training School, Valpoi including 49 Lady Home Guards.

HOME GUARD DOING COMMENDABLE JOB IN THE STATE: DGP BASSI

Shri Bhim Sain Bassi, Director General of Police who is also the ex-Officio Commandant General of Home Guards and Director Civil Defence of Goa State has said that Home Guards and Civil Defence volunteers are doing a commendable job not only in the State but throughout the country.Home Guards adn Civil defence organisation are completing 42 years in the state.

He was speaking at the at the Home Guards and Civil Defence day at a function held at Police Headquarters in Panjim today morning.

Speaking further complimented the Home Guards and civil Defence volunteers for doing a very good job for the community and asked them to continue doing the same. He said the Home Guards work hand in hand with the police and their role is significant in view of constraint on the manpower. Government he said have been doing its bit to give facilities to them.

On the occasion, Company Commander of Home Guards, Margao, Shri Kishan Chari was felicitated on the occasion at the hands of DGP Shri Bassi with DCD

Deputy Commandant General of Home Guards Shri D. K. Sawant was happy that his Home gurds are doing a good work and that he gets feedback from the members of the public about their performance. Shri Sawant said, he received a complement from non other then the Director of Prosecution who informed him that the Home Guard posted at the "O Coquero" junction is doing a commendable job. Such acknowledgements motive them keeps them going ahead.

Senior Superintendent of Police Shri S. K. Choudhury was also present on the dais.

Junior Staff Officer Shri Nandkishore Raikar welcomed the gathering while Medical Officer Civil Defence Dr. Paresh Lawande proposed a vote of thanks.
